BIG NEWS – My brilliant friend and fellow hot content creator, Jake Fowler of Besides the Weather, will be joining me as a contributor to Kitchen Curious. Fun Fact: Jake and his wife Ashley, who is my closest and dearest friend, actually introduced me to Burke. The four of us are pretty much inseparable, and among the many things we do together, eating is a big one.
For years now we have discussed our dreams of blogging separately and together, so it is about time that dreams start to come true. Jake’s creativity and generosity know no bounds, as seen by the little party he threw over the weekend…
Hi everyone, Jake here. I am generous, but mostly just with my portion sizes. I love writing (on my blog Besides the Weather about things like why eating before 11 a.m. is a smart business decision and when it’s ok to eat salad at a pizza place) eating (My weakness is dips, especially ones that include cheese. I’m from Wisconsin.) and watching TV (favorite shows right now are Billions, Stranger Things and Chicago P.D.), so this post was probably written in destiny’s stars.
It came about because I use Kirsten’s Netflix password. Everytime I logged in and clicked the “Guest” profile I felt a little guilty. (Not every time. Sometimes it was fun to click on Kirsten’s profile and see which shows she’d recently watched. The entire season of Fuller House on a Friday night?! What in the hell is Grace and Frankie?!) I needed to say thank you.
Obviously Kirsten loves food, and because I could see her history (and also because I’m her friend) I knew which shows she loves. So I decided to combine all of this intel and throw a Netflix password sharing appreciation party in her honor using themed-foods from her favorite shows. (I’m not a good cook, so she still made/helped me make all of the dishes.)
If you share someone’s Netflix password, you should do the same. It’s really the least you could do, and you still get to eat, drink and discuss how great Steve from Stranger Things is with someone who likes you enough to reveal their password.
